It's independence Day weekend, meaning baseball is about to be awash in stars-and-stripes-themed attire -- jerseys, caps, wristbands . . . and would you believe cleats? One player taking the extra step to celebrate July 4 -- and, by extension, honor those who made it so -- is the Nationals Bryce Harper.
On Friday, Harper took to Instagram to show off his new kicks:
There's a lot to unpack here, but Harper covered all the bases: you've got some stars, some stripes, logos of various military branches, and hey, what says America more than an Under Armour emblem?
You can catch Harper and his patriotic cleats at home all weekend long against the Reds, and then on the holiday itself as the Nationals welcome the Brewers to town.
