By now, you've undoubtedly heard that Alex Rodriguez is playing his final game for the Yankees on Friday. As such, we're going to spend the upcoming week -- okay, many upcoming weeks -- arguing about his legacy.

Part of those debates will revolve around whether Rodriguez deserves a tribute on baseball's holiest grounds -- no, not yet Cooperstown silly. We're talking about Monument Park. If you listen to Hal Steinbrenner's answer to that question from his Monday appearance on the Michael Kay Show, then the answer seems to be maybe:

Steinbrenner avoids giving a definitive answer either way. He does, however, credit Rodriguez for contributing to the Yankees both on and off the field, explicitly praising Rodriguez's work as a mentor and leader.

Perhaps Steinbrenner is just paying lip service to an employee -- remember, Rodriguez will remain around the organization in a non-playing role -- but if you listen hard enough, it kind of sorta sounds like you'll see an A-Rod plaque in Monument Park someday down the road.
