Nationals second/third baseman Anthony Rendon was on the ballot for the Final Vote to make the NL All-Star team, but he didn't make it, being beaten out by Anthony Rizzo. That means he had a four-day vacation and he really didn't seem to mind.

“I have a bed at home waiting for me to sleep in,” Rendon said (washingtonpost.com). “It’s a good four-day vacation. We have a long season ahead.”

Totally understandable, especially with someone as young and talented as Rendon -- meaning he'll probably be an All-Star at some point. But then he probably went a bit too far, when asked if he watched the All-Star Game:

“I don’t watch baseball -- it’s too long and boring,” he said (washingtonpost.com).

That's a great way to sell the product to the fans who help support it, Anthony.

Man, that's all the baseball-hating trolls need is having a player provide a quote like Rendon just did. What's next, saying it's overpriced or going with the played (and untrue) narrative that it's "dying?"
