Rory McIlroy has become a star since turning pro in 2007. You may think you know everything there is about the next great golf superstar, but you'll be surprised at some of his feats.
Not only was McIlroy born in Holywood, he was born on May the 4th, aka Star Wars day. The world's top-rated golfer was destined for stardom from the get-go. May the Force be with McIlroy as he goes for his first Masters win.
In his young career, McIlroy has already emerged victorious in four majors on the PGA Tour. He's won the PGA Championship twice, Britain's Open Championship and the U.S. Open.
When you win four majors by the age of 25, you've definitely started young. But McIlroy started younger than most. At the age of two he hit a 40-yard drive.

6. He has the U.S. Open's best score ever
It took McIlroy five years, but at the age of 22 he won his first major in dominating fashion. McIlroy shot 16-under par, winning the U.S. Open by eight strokes.
Tiger Woods is known for his quiet, determined demeanor on the course (most of the time), but he has plenty of friends on the tour. Include McIlroy as one of Woods' buddies. They became close during the 2012 PGA Tour season and even starred in Nike commercials together.

8. He's a huge Manchester United fan
McIlroy doesn't hide his love for his favorite soccer team, Manchester United. He even has season tickets to The Red Devils.
2012 was a good year for McIlroy. Along with winning the PGA Championship and being appointed UNICEF's Ireland Ambassador, McIlroy also became the first Irishman to hold the top spot in the world of professional golf.

14. He overslept at the Ryder Cup
McIlroy's been notorious for oversleeping in his brief professional career. In 2012, he almost missed his tee time at the Ryder Cup by sleeping in.
