Father's Day is traditionally celebrated every year during the final round of the US Open, and Sunday will be no different, as it coincides with the conclusion of the 2021 U.S. Open. Last year's tournament was rescheduled to September due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with Bryson DeChambeau breaking through to win his first major. This year's sentimental favorite at Torrey Pines is Phil Mickelson, who turned 51 earlier this week and is still riding high from becoming the oldest major champion in history after capturing last month's PGA Championship.

DeChambeau is among the favorites, carrying 18-1 2021 U.S. Open odds, just behind world No. 1 Dustin Johnson (16-1). Jon Rahm is the overall favorite at 10-1 at William Hill Sportsbook, while Mickelson is far behind at 50-1. Shockingly, the golf expert is fading Justin Thomas at the US Open 2021, despite the fact that he won the Players Championship and is the No. 2 player in the world. The 27-year-old is 22-1 but has not been playing well recently and has avoided Torrey Pines most of his career. He has a top-10 finish and a missed cut in two tries. "His game has only been sharp once in the past six months, and that was in his win at the Players," Johnson told SportsLine.

On the other hand, Johnson knows Rahm is playing like the best player in the world and desperately wants a win to show for it. His physical development has been remarkable, adding close to 50 pounds of muscle since turning pro in an all-out assault on distance. The experiment has worked, with DeChambeau closing in on 200 mph ball speed off his driver and courses falling prey to the sheer length those blasts produce. Not only did DeChambeau bomb-and-gouge his way to a six-shot victory in the 2020 U.S. Open, he also overpowered Bay Hill earlier in 2021 to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Averaging 322.7 yards per drive, DeChambeau is also first on the PGA Tour in strokes gained off the tee and total strokes gained this season.
