It's difficult to feel bad for someone who is probably a billionaire, but David Feherty does. The subject at hand is, of course, Tiger Woods.
Feherty spoke to AL.com recently and had an interesting Woods take.
"Even this last episode when he was so bummed and deflated, and for the first time he gave the impression he felt like a basket case, we still followed him to his car and watched him struggle to get his shoes off and drive away," said Feherty.
"I mean, really? Enough. I never thought I'd feel sorry for him, but I do."
I see where he's coming from. I even wrote about it a few years ago. It doesn't suck to be a billionaire, but it does suck to be in a fishbowl every minute of every day.
Woods has never not been under a microscope in public since he could legally buy alcohol. That likely won't change until he dies.
That's a weird way to live life and certainly one that must be tiring. Maybe Woods' struggles with wanting to "climb the mountain" again have less to do with physical ability and more to do with how tired he is.
I wouldn't blame him.
Also, you should read the Feherty article. It ends with him unable to believe he gets paid to talk about golf for a living. He says it more eloquently:
"Can you believe I get paid for this sh--?"
