Arnold Palmer had a pacemaker put in his shoulder recently, but he told ESPN on Tuesday that he's counting down the days until he can play golf again.

"Twelve days," he said. "My back has been bothering me some, but this has more to do with the swing and the fact that the pacemaker is in my shoulder. They don't want me to disrupt the wiring that is in there. So I'll wait for the doctors to say it's OK."

Palmer's surgery took place in Pittsburgh, just a little over a week ago. His doctor Cori Britt said Palmer was doing some very Palmer-y things after surgery.

You know Mr. Palmer," Britt said. "He’s anxious to get out of the hospital because he’s feeling good enough. He hopes to be home tomorrow."

"It should be a quick recovery," Britt said. "He likely will be limited to swinging the club for a little while, but he hasn’t been doing a lot of that of late anyhow."
