After another big day for the Americans, the 43rd playing of the Ryder Cup has a decisive frontrunner with the United States carrying an 11-5 lead into Sunday as a -5000 favorite. All that's left is Sunday's singles where the U.S. has a decided advantage as well with a more stacked 12-man lineup compared to its European counterparts.
No team has surmounted a deficit as big as the one Europe is facing entering the final day of competition, but two teams -- the Americans in 1999 and the Europeans in 2012 -- have mounted comebacks to win facing 10-6 deficits. A come-from-behind victory from Europe would be improbable ... just not impossible.
Now that the singles pairings are out, though, that rings doubly true. The best of the U.S. pitted against the best of Europe is -- on paper -- a favorable matchup for the Americans. Having the best talent should help them get over the finish line with a win on home soil as the United States is looking to win its second straight Ryder Cup at home but just its third overall since the turn of the century.
Here's a look at the 12 singles matches set for Sunday's final day of action at the Ryder Cup with the Americans needing 3.5 points to clinch the Ryder Cup. Brush up on the Ryder Cup format and rules here, and follow live Ryder Cup scores and results on Sunday. All times Eastern
