High school football coach Rush Propst has been a public and controversial figure, to say the least.
The MTV show Two-A-Days highlighted the Hoover (Alabama) football team when Propst was the head coach. He was also the subject of an ESPN report in 2013 that revealed he had a secret family with his mistress.
Propst made headlines once again this past football season as the head coach of Colquitt County High School in Georgia, when he was seen on camera headbutting one of his players -- and later bleeding from the wound -- during a playoff game.

Immediately following the incident in December, it appeared as if Propst would receive no punishment -- both the high school and the Georgia High School Association elected not to reprimand the coach.
But on Thursday, according to the Moultrie Observer, Propst received a letter from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission informing him that he had been suspended for one year for making contact with a student.
Propst has reportedly appealed the decision and will attempt to lead Colquitt County to a third straight state title this fall.
