In June, FC Barcelona took home their fifth UEFA Champions League title. And, now, the team will begin to wear jerseys that celebrate that historic achievement.
On Wednesday, Barcelona announced that they're adding two new patches to their jersey that they will wear during this year's Champions League. The first is simple: A logo of the European Cup with "2015" printed inside of it.
The second, which is on the left sleeve, is also simple, but this is the one that folks will pay attention to. It's also a logo of the European Cup, however instead of the year printed inside of it, there's a number: 5. As in the five titles that Barcelona have now won.
As the Barcelona website points out, the team is now part of a select few clubs who can claim what they can. The only teams that have won the Champions League five total times or three times in a row are Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Liverpool and Ajax. Now, Barcelona is a member of that ridiculous club.
Barcelona won their first four titles in 1992, 2006, 2009 and 2011. Their new patch will make sure we don't soon forget.
