Alexander Nikishin CAR D
Hurricanes' Alexander Nikishin: Diagnosed with concussion
3h agoNikishin was officially diagnosed with a concussion suffered during Saturday's 4-2 win over the Senators, the Hurricanes announced Sunday.
The injury was suffered after a massive open-ice hit thrown by Tyler Kleven. With his diagnosis, the 24-year-old will now have to clear the NHL's concussion protocol in order to return to the ice. The good news for him is that the Hurricanes dispatched the Senators in a sweep, so the team will have some time off as they await their second-round matchup, giving the young defenseman a chance to not miss a game. Nikishin finished with no points and was a plus-1 rating in the four games against the Senators.

Dan Vladar PHI G
Flyers' Dan Vladar: Takes first loss of playoffs
13h agoVladar allowed three goals on 20 shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Penguins in Game 4. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.

Senators' Linus Ullmark: Gets no support in four-game sweep

He is just the second goalie in NHL history to have a save percentage north of .930 and still get swept in a four-game series, according to ESPN's Blake Warye. Jonathan Quick (.947) suffered the same fate in the first round in 2018.
-
Frederik Andersen CAR G
Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Silencing doubters with excellence

He and the Canes now await the winner of the Flyers-Penguins series.
