  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Stays hot with power-play goal

Johnson scored a power-play goal on three shots in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Flyers. Johnson has two goals and five assists during his five-game point streak. The Blue Jackets have dug deep to stay in the playoff race this long, but their fate is out of their hands. Johnson is at 24 goals, 57 points, 120 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 67 contests in an impressive breakout campaign that should allow him to be a top-six player in Columbus for a long time.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Two-point effort Saturday

Johnson delivered a goal and an assist in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Capitals. Both points came in the first period as the Blue Jackets put the game away early. Johnson has gotten onto the scoresheet in three straight games as Columbus makes a desperate push to catch Montreal for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, and the 22-year-old has produced a goal and nine points over the last seven contests. Johnson needs two more goals in the Blue Jackets' last three games to reach 25 for the first time in his career.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Six assists in last five games

Johnson put up two assists Tuesday in a 5-2 win over Ottawa. Johnson has six assists in his last five games but just seven shots in that span -- and five of those shots came Tuesday. He now has 52 points, including 22 goals, and 114 shots in 63 contests this season.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Four-game, six-point streak

Johnson had a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win over the Red Wings on Thursday. Johnson has delivered points in four consecutive games (four goals, two assists). The newly-formed line of Johnson, James van Riemsdyk and Boone Jenner keyed a big second-period scoring run with three of the team's four snipes in that frame. Johnson has elevated his game to a near point-per-game pace, as he has 20 goals and 21 assists over 45 appearances.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Finds back of net again

Johnson scored a goal in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers. The 22-year-old sniper got Columbus on the board late in the first period with another slick tally, as he took a feed from Zach Werenski below the faceoff circle to the left of Jonathan Quick, calmly settled the puck down and then snapped it under the goalie's outstretched glove. Johnson hasn't gone more than two straight games without lighting the lamp since early January, and over the last 15 games, he's racked up seven goals and 13 points. Saturday's goal also established a new career high for Johnson, and through 42 appearances this season, the fifth overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft has produced 17 goals and 36 points.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Tallies in Tuesday's loss

Johnson scored a goal on four shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Sabres. The goal extended Johnson's point streak to eight games (four goals, five assists). The 22-year-old tied the game at 1-1 early in the second period. He's now matched his career high in goals (16), and he's five points away from equaling his personal best from 2022-23. Johnson is at 35 points, 78 shots on net and a minus-2 rating through 40 appearances this season.

Johnson notched an assist and two shots on goal in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Stars. Johnson has three goals and five assists during his seven-game point streak. The 22-year-old forward was streaky in December, but he's gotten back to consistency in recent weeks -- he hasn't gone more than two games without a point since Jan. 4. Johnson's up to 15 goals, 19 helpers, 74 shots on net and a minus-4 rating over 39 outings this season.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Streak at three games, four points

Johnson had a goal and an assist in a 7-4 loss to Carolina on Thursday. Johnson's scoring streak sits at three games (two goals, two assists), and he has six points (three goals, three assists) in his last five games. Columbus has been patient with Johnson's development since the 2021 NHL Draft, and they have been rewarded. He's playing a stronger two-way game and has learned how to use his strength, instead of being knocked off the puck. Johnson has 14 goals and 16 assists in 35 games this season. He's a rising star.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Opens scoring in loss

Johnson scored a power-play goal on four shots and blocked three shots in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Islanders. Johnson is up to three goals and three assists over nine outings in January. Three of those points have come with the man advantage. The 22-year-old is up to 13 tallies, 14 assists, 68 shots on net and a minus-6 rating over 33 appearances. Monday also marked the first time all season he's blocked multiple shots in a game -- while he often plays in all situations, the bulk of his production comes from points, not physical play.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Two points including GWG

Johnson scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Thursday's 4-1 victory over the Sharks. An aggressive Sean Kuraly forecheck late in the first period led to a San Jose turnover, and Johnson was able to take advantage to score his 12th goal of the season and give Columbus a 2-0 lead. It's Johnson's first multi-point performance in over a month, and across his prior 14 contests, the 22-year-old had managed just two goals and six points. The young winger has been streaky all year -- he has five separate point streaks of three games or more in 2024-25, accounting for all of his production aside from Thursday's effort -- so he could be gearing up for another surge.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Contributes helper in win

Johnson notched a power-play assist and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Blues. Johnson's consistency from October and November has turned to streaky play. He ended a three-game point drought when he helped out on a Kirill Marchenko tally in the second period. Johnson remains on the second line, so he's still in a good position to produce offense. The 22-year-old has 22 points (eight on the power play), 52 shots on net and a minus-7 rating through 26 appearances, making him a strong offense-only option in fantasy.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Reaches 10-goal, 20-point marks

Johnson scored a goal on two shots in Monday's 5-4 win over the Canadiens. The tally was Johnson's 10th goal and 20th point of the season. He's picked up a goal and an assist over his last two contests to bounce back from a recent three-game dry spell. The 22-year-old forward has added 45 shots on net and a minus-3 rating over 21 appearances. While he's currently in a middle-six role, Johnson has been one of the Blue Jackets' best scoring threats this season, though his fantasy value is highest in formats that focus on point production.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Gathers assist in overtime loss

Johnson notched an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Flyers. Johnson had gone three games without a point entering Saturday. That's the second time he's had a drought of that length, but he's been more good than bad while filling a middle-six role in 2024-25. The 22-year-old is up to nine goals, 10 helpers, 43 shots on net and a minus-3 rating through 20 appearances. Johnson's production and pedigree -- he was taken fifth overall in 2021 -- make him a strong option for most fantasy formats, though he won't add much in the way of physical play.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Stays warm with helper

Johnson logged a power-play assist in Thursday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Capitals. Johnson has five points over his last three games, though his helper Thursday was his first power-play point since Nov. 23 versus the Hurricanes. He's bounced back well from a brief slump earlier in December. The 22-year-old forward is logging top-line minutes and time on the first power-play unit. He has nine goals, eight assists, 33 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through 15 appearances, which is already better production than his 16-point effort over 42 outings in an injury-shortened 2023-24.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Taking next step in game

Johnson had a goal and an assist in a 5-3 loss to the Flyers on Tuesday. Johnson has four points (three goals, one assist) across his past two games. The fifth overall pick (2021) appears to be taking the next step in his game. He has nine goals, seven assists and 32 shots in just 14 outings this season, and he's on pace to establish new career marks in all offensive categories. Continue to watch Johnson's 28.1 shooting percentage, which has nowhere to go but down. Still, he's a talented young forward with lots of fantasy promise.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Point in every game played so far

Johnson scored a goal Friday in a 5-2 win over Calgary. He went down the right wing, faked a pass across and then wired it inside the far post. Johnson has six points (three goals, three assists) in his past four games, and he has at least a point (five goals, six assists) in all eight games he has played. He missed 14 games with a shoulder injury. Check your wire -- some managers may still be sleeping on Johnson.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Stays warm with helper in loss

Johnson logged an assist and two shots on goal in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Canadiens. Johnson is up to five points over three games since he returned from a shoulder injury. The 22-year-old forward has four goals, six assists, 13 shots on net and a minus-1 rating over seven contests this season. He's yet to be held off the scoresheet, and he figures to be a key part of the Blue Jackets' top six as long as his offense stays hot.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Two assists in shootout win

Johnson provided two assists, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-4 shootout win over the Hurricanes. Johnson's first helper was on a Dmitri Voronkov power-play tally, and he also assisted on Kirill Marchenko's game-tying goal in the third period. With two goals and two assists over two contests since his return from a shoulder injury, Johnson is locked in. What's better is that he's seeing time in all situations. The 22-year-old is up to nine points (four on the power play, two shorthanded), 10 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through six appearances. He's got the skill to take the Blue Jackets' offense to the next level.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Activated from injured reserve

The Blue Jackets activated Johnson (shoulder) from injured reserve Thursday. Johnson was off to a great start with two goals and three assists in his first four games before a shoulder injury knocked him out of the lineup, forcing him to miss 14 games. Johnson, who was selected fifth overall in 2021, is expected to play alongside Adam Fantilli and James van Riemsdyk on the second line Thursday when Columbus hosts Tampa Bay. He should also see power-play time on the second unit as he is eased back into the lineup.

  • Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Likely available for Thursday

Johnson is likely to return for Thursday's game against Tampa Bay, per Aaron Portzline of The Athletic. Johnson practiced alongside Adam Fantilli and James van Riemsdyk on Wednesday, so those are his projected linemates if he does play Thursday. The 22-year-old Johnson hasn't been in the lineup since Oct. 17 against the Sabres. He was red hot before the injury, starting the campaign with two goals and five points across four appearances.
