  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Provides pair of assists

Sillinger logged two assists and two blocked shots in Thursday's 7-6 overtime win over the Lightning. Sillinger set up Yegor Chinakhov on a second-period tally and also fed Zach Werenski for the game-winning goal 1:26 into overtime. While it's a young forward group, the Blue Jackets could roll three scoring lines now that Kent Johnson is healthy again. As such, there's no reason to worry about Sillinger's third-line placement from Thursday -- he led all Columbus forwards with 17:55 of ice time in this contest. The 21-year-old center has four points over his last four games and is up to three goals, nine assists, 41 shots on net, 33 hits and a minus-5 rating over 19 appearances for the season.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Snaps drought with empty-netter

Sillinger scored an empty-net goal in Friday's 6-2 win over the Penguins. Sillinger closed out the scoring with 4:28 left in the third period. He went pointless during the Blue Jackets' recent six-game losing streak. Sillinger has just nine points (three goals, six assists) this season, so his production hasn't been enough to make him worthy of rostering in most formats.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Three-point effort against Oilers

Sillinger delivered a goal and two assists in Monday's 6-1 win over Edmonton. It was the first multi-point performance of the season for the 21-year-old. Sillinger has moved into a prominent role for Columbus, skating on the second line with Adam Fantilli at even strength while also working on the top power-play unit, and the assignment is beginning to lead to production. Sillinger was the 12th overall pick in the 2021 Draft, and he may be coming into his own.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Receives top-line look

Sillinger posted an assist, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Maple Leafs. Sillinger started the year on the third line, but head coach Dean Evason's lineup shuffle saw Sillinger take over on the top line while Yegor Chinakhov moved down to the second line. Sillinger was able to draw his assist on Kirill Marchenko's third-period tally. Through six outings, Sillinger has a goal, three helpers, 14 shots on net, eight hits and six PIM. His fantasy value receives an instant boost if he can stay in his new role, as the 21-year-old has the scoring chops to handle increased responsibilities.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Snaps home shortie Tuesday

Sillinger scored a shorthanded goal in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Panthers The 21-year-old opened the scoring just 41 seconds into the second period, taking a long pass from Kent Johnson and then going top shelf on Sergei Bobrovsky. Sillinger has a goal and two points in three games to begin the season, and with the Blue Jackets having to lean heavily on their young core, he could reach the 20-goal and 40-point plateaus for the first time in 2024-25.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Grabs two-year deal

Sillinger agreed to terms on a two-year, $4.5 million contract with Columbus on Wednesday. Sillinger bounced back from a disappointing sophomore campaign, having recorded just 11 points in 64 games in 2022-23, with a 32-point 2023-24 season that included a career-best 19 helpers. The 21-year-old Columbus native is poised to remain in a middle-six role heading into the upcoming year and should be capable of continuing to put up 30-plus points in addition to 100-plus hits.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Scores team's lone goal in loss

Sillinger scored a goal on four shots, blocked three shots and added three hits in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Rangers. Sillinger gave Columbus some hope when he scored on a rebound after Igor Shesterkin gave the puck away behind the Rangers' net in the third period, but the Blue Jackets were unable to solve Shesterkin the rest of the night. The goal was Sillinger's ninth, and the 20-year-old forward is up to 21 points through 53 games, putting him on pace to finish right around his rookie season total of 31 points from 2021-22. However, he's put up only two points since Jan. 25.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Picks up helper in win

Sillinger recorded an assist and blocked two shots in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Flames. Sillinger led the Blue Jackets' forwards with 18:52 of ice time in this contest. The 20-year-old center helped out on a Yegor Chinakhov tally in the first period. Sillinger has five points over nine outings in January, providing solid offense but not enough to match his current top-line role. He's at 19 points, 83 shots on net, 47 hits, 46 blocked shots, 28 PIM and an even plus-minus rating through 42 appearances this season.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Two-point effort Tuesday

Sillinger scored a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 9-4 rout of the Sabres. Both points came in the third period as the Blue Jackets wrapped up the massive victory. Sillinger also added a team-high five shots on net, a blocked shot, a hit and a plus-2 rating to his ledger while winning eight of his 16 faceoffs, one of the more well-rounded performances of the season for the 20-year-old. He's still trying to find some consistency on offense -- Sillinger had only one assist in his prior seven games, a stretch broken up by a five-game absence due to an upper-body injury -- but the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft remains a key part of Columbus' future.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Moved to IR

Sillinger (upper body) was placed on the injured reserve list Wednesday. Sillinger has a goal and nine points in 24 contests in 2023-24. He hasn't played since last Wednesday, so this move is presumably retroactive to that date. If that's the case, then Sillinger can be activated whenever he's healthy, though Columbus probably wouldn't have made this move unless the 20-year-old was expected to at least miss one more game. Emil Bemstrom, who was summoned from AHL Cleveland in a corresponding move, might play Thursday against the Islanders in Sillinger's stead.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Remains out Tuesday

Sillinger (upper body) won't play Tuesday versus the Kings, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports. Sillinger will sit for a third straight game with the injury. With Patrik Laine (illness) also sidelined, Mathieu Olivier is set to draw in on the fourth line while Alexandre Texier moves up to the third line. Sillinger's next chance to play is Thursday versus the Islanders.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Dealing with upper-body injury

Sillinger suffered a upper-body injury Wednesday versus Montreal and is considered day-to-day, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports. Sillinger is questionable for Friday's tilt versus Ottawa. He has a goal and nine points in 24 games. The 20-year-old had a very good rookie season in 2021-22 when he managed 16 goals and 31 points in 75 contests, but he slumped mightily last year, picking up three goals and 11 points in 64 NHL outings.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Not practicing Thursday

Per Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site, Sillinger (undisclosed) is not at practice Thursday. Sillinger was apparently injured during Wednesday's 4-2 loss to Montreal. Sillinger has a goal and nine points in 24 games. The Blue Jackets recalled Kent Johnson from AHL Cleveland and he could get into the lineup Friday versus Ottawa should Sillinger be unable to go. Consider Sillinger day-to-day.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Chips in with assist

Sillinger posted an assist in Monday's 5-3 road loss against the Stars. Sillinger also contributed with three shots on goal and a hit while taking two minor penalties in his 13:16 of ice time across 21 shifts. Suitcase's son also went 6-for-12 at the faceoff dot. The 20-year-old has managed just three assists and a minus-1 rating across nine games with 13 PIM. The bottom-six forward doesn't offer much fantasy value outside of the very deepest of formats with his current usage.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Not guaranteed roster spot

Sillinger could begin the season back with AHL Cleveland due to the Blue Jackets' roster crunch, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. The 20-year-old was the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft and is still very much in the Blue Jackets' future plans, but Sillinger has an extra hurdle to overcome as one of a handful of players on the roster who can be sent to the AHL without needing to clear waivers. He's also coming off a rough sophomore campaign, with three goals and 11 points in 64 outings, after scoring 16 goals and 31 points in 79 NHL games as an 18-year-old rookie. Sillinger managed two goals and six points in 11 games with AHL Cleveland last season. With Adam Fantilli now in town as the Jackets' franchise player, Sillinger is facing less pressure to develop into a future No. 1 center, but regaining his confidence in the minors before returning to Columbus could help him secure a middle-six role down the road.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Sent to AHL

Sillinger was reassigned to AHL Cleveland on Thursday. It has been a real tough sophomore season for Sillinger, who snapped a 45-game goalless streak March 17 with his third goal of the season. Sillinger has 11 points in 64 games after scoring 16 times and adding 15 assists as an 18-year-old rookie in 2021-22. Look for a rebound season in 2023-24, as he should regain some confidence playing in the AHL the rest of the way.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Provides power-play goal

Sillinger scored a power-play goal in Columbus' 7-4 loss to Anaheim on Friday. Sillinger's marker came late in the second period to tie the game at 3-3. He has three goals and 10 points in 62 appearances this season, including three points with the man advantage. Sillinger didn't score a goal over his previous 45 contests, and he had just four assists in that span.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Recalled from AHL

As expected, Sillinger was recalled from AHL Cleveland on Friday. Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports. Sillinger was sent to the minors Friday morning in a paper move that made him eligible for the AHL playoffs. The 19-year-old has struggled this season, scoring twice while adding six assists in 55 games with the Blue Jackets. Should Cleveland make the AHL playoffs, Sillinger will gain valuable experience that should help his game in the future.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Sent to AHL

Sillinger was sent to AHL Cleveland on Friday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports. This is a paper move to make Sillinger eligible for the AHL playoffs as the Blue Jackets would love to get their center extra playing time after the NHL season ends in April. Sillinger should be recalled at some point Friday. He has only two goals and six assists in 55 top-level games this season, a far cry from the 16 goals and 31 points he managed as an 18-year-old rookie in the 2021-22 season.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Playing Saturday

Sillinger (illness) will be back in the lineup versus Edmonton on Saturday, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. Sillinger sat out Thursday's tilt versus Minnesota with the illness, but was back at practice Friday. He has slumped this season, with only two goals and eight points in 52 games, after a 16-goalm 15-assist rookie campaign in 2021-22. The 19-year-old has plenty of talent and this is likely going to be a small blip in his NHL career.
