Buffalo acquired Malenstyn from Washington on Saturday in exchange for the No. 43 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
Malenstyn played his first full season in the NHL in 2023-24, scoring six times while adding 15 assists and 241 hits in 81 regular-season games. The 26-year-old should see bottom-six time with the Sabres in 2024-25.
