Vesey is being evaluated for a lower-body injury, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.

Vesey, who spent the offseason rehabbing a separated shoulder suffered in the Eastern Conference Finals, is still expected to open the year in a bottom-six role for the Rangers.
