Morrow didn't skate with the game group ahead of Wednesday's preseason contest against Florida, but he did practice with those who aren't expected to play while wearing a regular jersey, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
That would suggest Morrow is clear for contact, which is a good sign that he might be able to play in the near future. The 21-year-old defenseman had six goals and 30 points in 37 appearances with UMass-Amherst in 2023-24. He also appeared in two regular-season games with Carolina, recording six shots, one hit and two blocks.
