Hughes (shoulder surgery) is practicing on the top line at the first day of training camp Thursday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Hughes missed 20 games with shoulder woes in 2023-24, as he was out of action on three separate occasions. Hughes had surgery in April, which allowed him to get ready for the upcoming season. The talented 23-year-old had 27 goals, and 47 assists -- including 31 points on the power play -- in 62 regular-season appearances last season. He could hit the 100-point mark this season, if he remains healthy.
