Savard is out indefinitely because of an upper-body injury. He was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, per the NHL media site.
Savard was credited with five blocked shots in Monday's 3-1 win over Buffalo. According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, Savard's hand was struck in the contest, and the Montreal blueliner could be out for weeks if he sustained a fracture. Gustav Lindstrom was called up from AHL Laval on Tuesday to replace Savard in the lineup.
