Gignac was waived Sunday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Gignac accumulated 19 goals and 55 points over 61 regular-season contests for AHL Laval in 2023-24. He also earned one goal, seven shots on net, seven blocked shots and five hits in seven NHL outings with the Canadiens last campaign. Gignac will probably spend most of the upcoming season in the AHL.
