Scott was recalled from AHL Cleveland on Friday.
Scott's call-up was necessitated by winger Matt Calvert (upper body) getting placed on injured reserve. Now 21 years old, Scott wasn't drafted by an NHL club but showed marked improvement in each subsequent campaign with the OHL's Barrie Colts between 2012-16. In his final season there, the Ontario native amassed 28 goals, 37 assists, and a plus-32 rating before signing as a free agent with the Blue Jackets this summer. He's yet to make an appearance at hockey's highest level.
