Avalanche's Matthew Phillips: Heading to AHL

The Avalanche waived Phillips on Wednesday with the intention of reassigning him to AHL Colorado.

Phillips signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Avalanche in early August, and it appears as though he'll begin the 2024-25 regular season in the AHL. He made 31 regular-season appearances between Pittsburgh and Washington last year, recording a goal and five points.
