Avalanche's Joel Kiviranta: Agrees to professional tryout

Kiviranta signed a professional tryout agreement with the Avalanche on Monday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.

Kiviranta recorded eight goals and one assist in 70 games with Dallas last season. He also added five points in 15 postseason contests. The 27-year-old winger will compete for a bottom-line role in Colorado, but even if he makes the roster, he'll be used in limited fashion.
