Avalanche's Devon Toews: Will miss regular-season action

Toews (undisclosed) will miss some time to start the campaign after undergoing offseason surgery, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.

The Avalanche have yet to reveal what kind of surgery Toews underwent or how long he'll be on the shelf, but it's safe to assume he'll miss at least a few regular-season contests to start the year. The 27-year-old blueliner racked up nine goals and 31 points while posting a plus-29 rating and averaging a whopping 24:46 of ice time per contest through 53 games last campaign.
