  • Saints' Jordan Mims: Tallies five carries Week 9

Mims tallied five rushes for 13 yards and hauled in his only target for 25 yards during Sunday's 23-22 defeat against the Panthers. Mims stepped up to serve as the Saints' RB2 with veteran Jamaal Williams (groined) sidelined Week 9. The second-year back still had to contend for carries behind starter Alvin Kamara, as do-it-all tight end Taysom Hill also tallied five rushing attempts for 19 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Kamara handled a full workload with 29 carries and six receptions out of the backfield. With Kendre Miller (hamstring) on IR, Mims could continue to serve as RB2 if Williams remains sidelined for Sunday's game versus Atlanta, though his workload will likely be limited once again.

  • Saints' Jordan Mims: Signed to active roster

The Saints signed Mims off the practice squad to the active roster Saturday. Mims was waived off the active roster by the Saints on Oct. 26, but he opted to stay in New Orleans on the practice squad. He should see some meaningful snaps Sunday against the Panthers as Alvin Kamara's backup due to Jamaal Williams (groin) and Kendre Miller (hamstring) both being sidelined. Across six regular-season outings, Mims has logged five carries for 16 yards and two catches (on four targets) for 13 yards.

  • Jordan Mims: Back with New Orleans

The Saints signed Mims to the practice squad Tuesday. Mims appeared in the first six games of the regular season for the Saints, accumulating five carries for 16 yards and two catches (on four targets) for 13 yards over that span. He was waived from the active roster Saturday as he was the odd man out of the Saints' backfield of Alvin Kamara, Jamaal Williams and Kendre Miller (hamstring). However, Mims is back on the Saints' practice squad, and he will be available to be elevated to the active roster should the Saints need additional depth at running back on game day.

  • Saints' Jordan Mims: Sees late playing time in blowout

Mims accrued four carries for 11 yards during Sunday's 47-10 victory versus the Panthers. Mims logged his first career carry after the score had already reached 47-10 late in the fourth quarter. The second-year running back out of Fresno State only lined up on five offensive snaps, so it's clear that he only saw playing time due to the blowout nature of this game. Before the game got out of hand, Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill handled the team's top rushing duties, and veteran Jamaal Williams took over early in the second half and finished with 11 carries for 38 yards and a touchdown. Mims should continue to fulfill a fringe RB3 role while 2023 third-round pick Kendre Miller (hamstring) remains on IR for at least the next three games.

  • Saints' Jordan Mims: Sticking with New Orleans

Mims signed a reserve/future contract with the Saints on Monday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Mims spent the 2023 campaign on and off of the Saints' practice squad, failing to record any stats while garnering two targets over three offensive snaps in two games with the active roster. The running back will stick around New Orleans for the offseason and will have a chance to earn a spot on the 53-man roster ahead of the 2024 season.

  • Jordan Mims: Does not make cut

Mims was waived by the Bills on Monday, Alec White of the team's official website reports. Mims was competing for the No. 3 running back role with Latavius Murray behind James Cook and Damien Harris. He ultimately came up short, but the undrafted free agent will be a likely candidate to be offered a practice squad role with the team.

  • Bills' Jordan Mims: Out Saturday

Mims is in concussion protocol and will not play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Bears, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports. Mims left Wednesday's practice after a hit to the mouth that apparently led to a concussion. He is likely on the outside looking in when it comes to making it through final cuts, but that decision has not officially been made yet. Still, he will need to clear the league's concussion protocol before returning to contact drills in practice.

  • Bills' Jordan Mims: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Mims didn't practice Wednesday after getting hit in the mouth during Tuesday's practice, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports. Mims' absence is unlikely to last much longer, as the rookie undrafted free agent out of Fresno State will look to get back in action for Buffalo's preseason finale against the Bears on Saturday. He's unlikely to make the Bills' 53-man roster, and this absence won't help Mims' chances.
