  • Bills' Baylon Spector: Practice window opens

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday that Spector (calf) is being designated for return from IR, Maddy Glab of the team's official site reports. Spector has missed a requisite four games while on IR, and his 21-day practice window now kicks off. • Bills' Baylon Spector: Paces Bills linebackers in snaps

Spector recorded five tackles (three solo) during Sunday's 31-10 win at Seattle. With Terrel Bernard (ankle) out and Dorian Williams presumably playing through a knee issue, Spector functioned as Buffalo's top linebacker in Week 8. Whether he gets a similar snap share in Week 9 versus the Dolphins will depend largely on whether Bernard is able to return to action.

  • Bills' Baylon Spector: Racks up 10 stops

Spector recorded 10 tackles (seven solo) during Thursday's 31-10 win over the Dolphins. Spector played 81 percent of Buffalo's defensive snaps Week 2 with Terrel Bernard (pectoral) exiting the game early. Bernard is reportedly a candidate to miss roughly one month due to a pec strain, and in deeper IDP formats Spector will vault onto the fantasy radar for the duration of his recovery. Spector will look to make an impact again versus Jacksonville in Week 3 on Monday Night Football.

  • Bills' Baylon Spector: Past calf injury

Spector (calf) was left off the Bills' injury report Wednesday ahead of the team's regular-season opener Sunday against the Cardinals. • Bills' Baylon Spector: Fighting for top reserve role

Spector (back) is expected to compete with Dorian Williams for Buffalo's top backup role at linebacker, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports. Spector appears to be recovered from the back injury that ended his 2023 season early, and his spot on the 53-man roster heading into training camp appears secure due to his standing as a key special-teams contributor. Because of his draft capital as a 2023 third-round pick, Williams will likely be the favorite to win the top backup role this offseason, but Spector could have a solid chance to earn more opportunities if he can impress in workouts.

With Terrel Bernard (concussion) listed as questionable for Monday night's contest, Spector could see an increased role on the Bills' defense in his 2023 debut.
