We look at Thursday ownership percentage a lot each week, but something is different this week. Nearly 20 percent of people used Tom Brady as their quarterback on Thursday. More than 22 percent used Julian Edelman. There were six other offensive players with an ownership level over five percent.
That means we'll have to make adjustments to get a true idea of projected ownership. I'll touch on this more in the lineup article late Friday, but I'll give you a quick example. Philip Rivers was the highest owned non-Thursday participant at quarterback. He was owned at 10.2 percent. I would project that is going to at least 15 percent on Sunday.
Generally when I look for contrarian plays I look for guys that were sub-five percent on Thursday. This week I'll drop that to three percent. Again, I'll cover this much more before Sunday, but as you're studying data today keep it in mind.
