Vikings' Harrison Smith: Doesn't practice Thursday

Smith did not participate in Thursday's practice due to a hip injury.

Smith practiced without restrictions Wednesday, but the 2012 first-round pick is nursing a groin injury that kept him off the field Thursday. His status for Week 2 against the 49ers should be more clear once Friday's injury report is released. Smith registered seven tackles (three solo) and one interception in the Vikings' Week 1 win over the Giants.
