Thurman was promoted from New England's practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The 25-year-old spent training camp with the Patriots and failed to make the season-opening roster, but he's appeared in four games this season while serving as an extra player. Thurman now joins the active roster in a potentially longer-term capacity after playing a season-high 23 defensive snaps in Week 7.
