Holcomb played 16 of 17 games in 2021 and finished with career highs for tackles (142), pass defenses (seven) and interceptions (two).
Holcomb was one of the few guys who played up to or above his reputation in 2021 on a disappointing Washington defense, though PFF's grading system (54.8, 40th of 88 linebackers) doesn't paint as pretty of a picture as the counting stats. Either way, the 25-year-old linebacker seemingly did enough to retain a three-down role for the fourth and final year of his rookie contract, after playing 100 percent of Washington's defensive snaps in 15 of his 16 appearances in 2021. A 2019 fifth-round pick, Holcomb won't cost Washington much in 2022 if he plays out his rookie contract, but there'll likely be discussions this offseason for an extension.
