Rivers recently restructured his contract with the Chargers, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Rivers' contract details were revised in order to open some short-term salary cap space for the Chargers, who have a number of players that need to be paid on injured reserve. Although $6 million of Rivers' salary was transferred to a roster bonus, he'll still earn his originally scheduled $16.5 million this season, but San Diego will have $1.5 million less cap room in the next three years as a result of Rivers' restructuring.
