The 49ers placed Givens (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Givens suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Eagles in Week 2 and will be sidelined for at least three weeks with his move to IR. In his absence, expect Kentavius Street to play a more prominent role along the interior of San Francisco's defensive line while Givens recovers.
