  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Available with minutes restriction

Davis (adductor) is available for Monday's game against Brooklyn, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports. As expected, fantasy managers will have the superstar big man available Monday after Davis was listed as probable to play. However, Davis will remain on a restriction of 25-to-28 minutes against Brooklyn, per Afseth. Davis has averaged 15.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in 28.5 minutes over three games since returning from an extended absence, and a similar workload should be expected in this one.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Likely to play Monday

Davis (adductor) is listed as probable for Monday's game against Brooklyn. Davis has played in three of the Mavericks' last four games while working his way back from an adductor injury and is on track to play in Monday's interconference game. Davis has averaged 15.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals over 28.7 minutes per game since his return.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Serviceable numbers Saturday

Davis chipped in 18 points (7-23 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-7 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal in 30 minutes during Saturday's 120-119 win over the Bulls. Davis continues to work his way back from an adductor injury, logging 30 minutes, the most he has played since getting back on the court. It's been slow-going for Davis, especially on the offensive end of the floor. In three games, he has averaged 15.0 points on 35.3 percent shooting from the floor, adding 6.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks. He doesn't appear to be fully confident, but just the fact that he made it back at all should be seen as a huge positive.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Good to go Saturday

Davis (adductor) will play Saturday against the Bulls. As expected, Davis will shake off a probable tag to suit up for this contest. He's been quiet in his last two appearances, averaging 13.5 points on 39.3 percent shooting from the field.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Will likely play against Chicago

Davis (adductor) has been listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Bulls. Davis continues to manage his adductor injury, but he's trending toward playing Saturday in Chicago. The superstar big man is coming off a rough shooting performance in Thursday's win against the Magic, going 5-for-19 from the floor. However, he still finished the game with 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal against Orlando.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Poor shooting display in win

Davis provided 15 points (5-19 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-7 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Thursday's 101-92 win over Orlando. Davis didn't have his best shooting performance in this game, going 5-for-19 from the field and failing to get into any kind of rhythm offensively. The star big man has been limited to only three games in a Mavs uniform, averaging 17.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per game in those outings.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Available to play Thursday

Davis (adductor) is available for Thursday's game against the Magic. Davis was widely expected to play Thursday, so the upgrade in his status isn't much of a surprise for fantasy managers counting on him ahead of Thursday's matchup. However, it's worth noting that he'll play under a minutes restriction in this game, as head coach Jason Kidd said the big man will be limited to somewhere around 24 to 28 minutes, according to Mason Williams of SI.com. Davis didn't play against the Knicks on Tuesday and has been limited to just two games with Dallas since being traded in the deal that sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers before February's trade deadline. He's averaging 19.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game in those two outings.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Expected to play Thursday

Davis (adductor) is expected to play in Thursday's game against the Magic, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports. After missing Tuesday's loss to the Knicks, Davis is trending toward returning to the floor for the Mavericks on Thursday in Orlando. The veteran big man missed 18 straight games after getting injured in his first game with Dallas following the trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers. In his return from the adductor injury on March 24, the one-time NBA champion racked up 12 points, six rebounds, one steal and one block in a win over the Nets.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Questionable against Orlando

Davis (adductor) has been listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Magic. After missing Tuesday's loss to the Knicks, Davis has a chance to play Thursday in Orlando. The superstar big man finished with 12 points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in the win over the Nets on Monday after missing 18 straight games for Dallas with an adductor injury.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Confirmed out Tuesday

Davis (adductor) won't play Tuesday against the Knicks. In his return during Monday's 120-101 win over the Nets following an 18-game absence due to a left adductor strain, Davis logged 12 points (6-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block across 27 minutes. He'll sit out the second leg of the Mavericks' back-to-back set, but assuming he experienced no setbacks coming out of Monday's game, he should be ready to play again Thursday in Orlando.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Delivers 12 points in return

Davis (adductor) recorded 12 points (6-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block across 27 minutes in Monday's 120-101 win over the Nets. Davis' stat line in his return from an 18-game absence due to a left adductor strain wasn't especially eye-popping, but he converted well in the paint, avoided foul trouble and made his mark on the defensive end while playing under a 28-minute restriction. The Mavericks are expected to hold Davis out Tuesday against the Knicks in the second leg of a back-to-back set, but provided he didn't experience any setbacks coming out of Monday's contest, he could be ready to handle a slightly larger minutes load in his next appearance Thursday in Orlando.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Cleared to play Monday

Davis (adductor) is available for Monday's game against the Nets. Initially listed as doubtful for Monday's contest after he recently resumed practicing in the G League, Davis had his status gradually updated throughout the day and will officially put an end to an 18-game absence. Though he'll take back his spot in the starting five, Davis will be restricted to 28 minutes, per Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News. The return of Davis could leave fewer minutes in the frontcourt available for Naji Marshall and Kai Jones, one of whom will likely move to the bench to clear room for Davis on the top unit.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Expected to play Monday

The Mavericks have upgraded Davis (adductor) to probable for Monday's game against Brooklyn, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports. Davis was initially listed as doubtful to make his return from an 18-game absence due to a left adductor strain, though he's now expected to suit up. The star big man isn't expected to play in both halves of back-to-back sets yet, meaning he'll presumably sit out of Tuesday's game against the Knicks if he's deemed available Monday. Davis will likely operate under a minutes restriction Monday in what would be his first game since Feb. 8.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Now questionable for Monday's game

Davis (adductor) has been upgraded to questionable for Monday's game against the Nets. Davis was listed as doubtful heading into the day, but after evaluating him during morning shootaround, the Mavericks are more seriously considering having the star big man return to action. If Davis does end up getting the green light to play in advance of the 7:30 p.m. ET opening tip, he'll likely face restrictions in his first game since Feb. 8.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Officially doubtful for Monday

Davis (adductor) is listed doubtful for Monday's game against the Nets. Even with the Mavericks' hopes of making a deep run in the playoffs having taken a significant hit in the wake of Kyrie Irving's season-ending knee injury, Davis will try to suit up down the stretch. He hasn't played since Feb. 8 due to a left adductor strain but went through multiple 5-on-5 practices in the G League recently and may take the floor during Dallas' four-game road trip that begins Monday. Following Monday's game, Dallas plays in New York on Tuesday, in Orlando on Thursday and in Chicago on Saturday.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Could return during road trip

Davis (adductor) is progressing toward a potential return during Dallas' upcoming four-game road trip that begins with Monday's game versus the Nets, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports. Davis hasn't played since Feb. 8 due to a left adductor strain but is gearing up toward a return to action. The star big man has been going through 5-on-5 practices in the G League and could take the floor during Dallas' four-game road trip. Until Davis is able to suit up, Kai Jones and Dwight Powell should continue to soak up the majority of the team's center minutes.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Set to practice in G League

The Mavericks assigned Davis (adductor) to the G League so he can participate in a second round of 5-on-5 practices with the Texas Legends on Friday and will recall him after, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports. Davis continues to ramp up toward a return to action and will take part in a 5-on-5 practice in the G League for the second time this week. Although there is no official timetable for the star big man's return, it appears that he will attempt to play before the end of the regular season.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Back with NBA club

Dallas recalled Davis (thigh) from the G League's Texas Legends on Monday. Davis participated in 5-on-5 drills during Monday's G League practice as part of his return to action plan, but there's no word on how he fared just yet. As far as a timetable goes, it's still murky whether Davis will suit up for the Mavericks in the near future.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Cleared for more work

The Mavericks announced Friday that Davis (adductor) is improving daily and has been cleared for more on-court movements, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports. While Davis is progressing from the left adductor strain he sustained in his Mavericks debut Feb. 8, the team's latest update doesn't shed much light on how close he actually is to playing again. Notably, Friday's update doesn't indicate that Davis is ready to practice, so he looks to be in the week-to-week stage of his recovery rather than day-to-day. In the wake of Kyrie Irving (knee) recently suffering a season-ending ACL tear, the Mavericks could opt to shut Davis down if the injury-ravaged club isn't confident in its ability to make a deep playoff run.

  • Mavericks' Anthony Davis: May miss rest of season

The Mavericks could shut down Davis (adductor) for the rest of the 2024-25 season, Shams Charania of ESPN reported Tuesday during his appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show." Charania's report isn't an official update, but the Mavericks have thus far been vague about where Davis stands in his recovery from the left adductor strain he sustained in his team debut Feb. 8, with the team merely noting shortly after the All-Star break that he was "making good progress." The Mavericks were dealt another brutal blow Tuesday, when star point guard Kyrie Irving (knee) was diagnosed with a torn ACL, which will keep him out for the remainder of the season and quite likely, a large portion of the 2025-26 campaign. Rather than pushing Davis for a late-season return to an injury-ravaged roster that no longer seems to have aspirations for a deep playoff run, the Mavericks could be inclined to hold the superstar big man out so that he can head into 2025-26 in optimal health.
