  • Noah Penda SF | ORL

Magic's Noah Penda: Moves out of rotation

Penda (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Thursday in the Magic's 121-117 win over the Kings.

Penda dropped out of the rotation, ending a stretch of 13 consecutive appearances in which he averaged 3.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 14.6 minutes per contest. The Magic played Thursday's contest without Franz Wagner (ankle), Anthony Black (abdomen) and Jonathan Isaac (knee), so Penda will have difficulty regaining a foothold on the second unit if/when any of those injured players return to action.

  • Marcus Sasser PG | DET

Pistons' Marcus Sasser: Fails to make impact in return

Sasser (hip) recorded seven points (3-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist across 16 minutes Thursday in the Pistons' 129-108 win over the Pelicans.

In his return from a three-game absence due to a right hip strain, Sasser paced the Pistons with a 33.8 percent usage rate but his inefficient shooting yielded an underwhelming line. Sasser will likely stick in the Detroit rotation for as long as Cade Cunningham (lung) remains sidelined, but he's expected to continue playing second fiddle to Daniss Jenkins, who has thrived since replacing Cunningham as the team's starting point guard.

  • Pelicans' Dejounte Murray: Unlikely to play Friday

Murray isn't expected to be available for the second half of New Orleans' back-to-back Friday against the Raptors due to injury management, Rod Walker of The Times-Picayune reports. He provided 12 points (5-15 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and three steals across 29 minutes during Thursday's 129-108 loss to the Pistons.

Murray has appeared in three straight games for the Pelicans, so the team will likely sit him down Friday in an effort to maintain his health. The team has understandably been careful with the Washington product after coming back from a right Achilles surgery Feb. 24, which is an approach that is expected to continue down the stretch of the regular season.

  • Derik Queen C | NO

Pelicans' Derik Queen: Secures double-double in loss

Queen finished with 11 points (5-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 21 minutes during Thursday's 129-108 loss to the Pistons.

Queen was one of the lone bright spots for the Pelicans in a blowout loss. He reached double digits in the scoring column after being held to nine points or fewer in three straight games, and he nabbed his first double-double since Jan. 16. Despite a solid night, consistent production has been tough to come by for the rookie, who has seen north of 20 minutes only five times in 13 March showings.

  • Kevin Huerter SG | DET

Pistons' Kevin Huerter: Adds 22 points in spot start

Huerter chipped in 22 points (9-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Thursday's 129-108 win over New Orleans.

Huerter was penciled into the starting five Thursday after Duncan Robinson (hip/wrist) was downgraded to out, and he didn't disappoint. Huerter took advantage of his opportunities from behind the arc, where he added 12 of his 22 points. He finished second on his team in scoring and reached the 20-point threshold for just the fifth time this season.

  • Daniss Jenkins PG | DET

Pistons' Daniss Jenkins: Strong showing in victory

Jenkins supplied 19 points (6-12 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, nine assists and one steal across 33 minutes during Thursday's 129-108 win over New Orleans.

Jenkins has supplied the Pistons with plenty of offensive firepower since entering the starting lineup. He's put up 19 or more points in four of five starts since stepping into the first unit for Cade Cunningham (chest), and he's done so by also finding his teammates for buckets. Jenkins is averaging 19.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 8.0 assists during this five-game stretch.

  • Jalen Duren C | DET

Pistons' Jalen Duren: Flirts with triple-double

Duren closed Thursday's 129-108 victory over the Pelicans with 30 points (10-12 FG, 10-12 FT), 10 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals across 31 minutes.

Duren was clearly the star of the show Thursday evening, as he led the Pistons in scoring and rebounding and tied Ausar Thompson for the team lead in swats. He also impressed as a playmaker by dishing out a season-high seven dimes. Duren has stepped up in a big way while Detroit has been without Cade Cunningham (chest) and has put up 20-plus points in five consecutive showings, securing four double-doubles during this span.

  • Paolo Banchero PF | ORL

Magic's Paolo Banchero: Delivers another 30-point night

Banchero produced 30 points (11-22 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), nine rebounds and seven assists in 38 minutes during Thursday's 121-117 win over Sacramento.

Banchero continued his recent stretch of stellar play by posting his third straight 30-point outing. He's averaging 35.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.0 assists during this three-game stretch. The star forward also managed to impress as a playmaker Thursday by dishing out seven assists, a mark he's now reached five times in 15 matchups this month.

  • DeMar DeRozan SF | SAC

Kings' DeMar DeRozan: Drops 33 points in loss

DeRozan finished with 33 points (12-24 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 9-10 FT), six rebounds and 11 assists in 38 minutes during Thursday's 121-117 loss to the Magic.

DeRozan did his part on the offensive end and responded well after four consecutive sluggish performances as a scorer. He led Sacramento in the scoring department, and he also showcased his playmaking ability, resulting in his second double-double through 12 March outings.

  • OG Anunoby SF | NY

Knicks' OG Anunoby: Connects on five triples in loss

Anunoby logged 17 points (6-10 FG, 5-9 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and one block over 39 minutes during the Knicks' 114-103 loss to the Hornets on Thursday.

Anunoby did most of his scoring damage from beyond the arc in Tuesday's loss, finishing as the Knicks' second-leading scorer behind Jalen Brunson (26 points). Anunoby scored 11 of his 17 points in the second quarter, and it was the sixth time this season that he connected on at least five triples in a game (and third time in 11 games since March 6). Over his last 15 outings, Anunoby has averaged 19.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 3.1 threes and 1.4 steals over 33.4 minutes per game.
