Jackson (foot) said Tuesday on FanDuel's Run It Back show that he's targeting a return around mid-January.
Jackson said he's trying to push himself to get back by late December, but the medical staff is being cautious, so realistically, he'll likely return to game action sometime in January. After a breakout rookie season for the injury-riddled Grizzlies, the second-round pick had high expectations for Year 2. However, he broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot during a summer workout, underwent surgery at the beginning of September and was ruled out for at least three months. When healthy, Jackson's role will presumably be smaller than he had last year, as Memphis' roster is much healthier, but he should still be able to carve out a reserve role.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Out at least three months
Rotowire
Jackson underwent a successful procedure to repair a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot Wednesday and will be evaluated in approximately three months.
Jackson will miss at least the first month of the season while rehabbing from the procedure but is expected to make a full recovery. However, when healthy, his role remains unclear. As a rookie, the second-round pick carved out a substantial role for the injury-riddled Grizzlies. Over his final 18 regular-season appearances, Jackson averaged 20.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 34.1 minutes per game. With Ja Morant (shoulder), Marcus Smart (finger) and Desmond Bane (back) returning to full strength this offseason, Jackson will have a difficult time repeating those numbers in Year 2.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Suffers broken foot
Rotowire
Jackson broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot earlier this week and will undergo surgery Sept. 4.
The Grizzlies had a rough time with injuries in the 2023-24 season, and the team is not catching a break even in the offseason. Jackson suffered the injury while playing basketball outside Dallas on Aug. 27 when he had an unstable landing on his right foot. A timetable for recovery has not been provided, but it wouldn't be surprising if Jackson is not fully recovered for the start of the regular season in late October.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Hands out six dimes in win
Rotowire
Jackson dished out six assists over 32 minutes of play Thursday, adding 17 points (4-14 FG, 7-8 FT), seven rebounds, two triples and one steal in an 88-77 win over the Pelicans in Las Vegas.
Jackson's season high in dimes last season was four, but he had some impressive assists during Thursday's contest, so it appears that's a part of his game that he's been working on. Scotty Pippen Jr. also showed some impressive playmaking skills during Thursday's win, handing out 11 assists to go with 17 points (6-11 FG, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, one triple, three steals and just one turnover across 29 minutes. Both players have been great in Las Vegas, but if the Grizzlies are healthy next season, it'll be tough for either to earn enough minutes to make an impact in most 12-team fantasy leagues.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Nets 18 points with full line
Rotowire
Jackson hit 7-of-14 shots (3-7 3Pt) and made 1-of-2 free throws for 18 points, eight rebounds, two assists, three triples and three steals across 33 minutes during Wednesday's Summer League loss to the Thunder.
While most of Jackson's stat line was great, his six turnovers were less than stellar. Jackson posted some solid stat lines last season while logging big minutes for a team that was missing most of its key guys, but it'll be tough for him to replicate that success in Year 2 if Jaren Jackson Jr. and Brandon Clarke are healthy.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Pours in 31 points Friday
Rotowire
Jackson chipped in 31 points (12-23 FG, 7-13 3Pt, 0-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and three steals across 40 minutes during Friday's 123-120 loss to the Lakers.
Jackson led Memphis in scoring while putting up an efficient 7-for-13 line from beyond the arc. The seven triples tied his career-high mark, which he initially established March 20 against the Warriors. As has typically been the case for Jackson, his scoring came with little production as a rebounder or distributor, though he did tie his career-best total with three thefts in Friday's defeat.
Jackson recorded 15 points (6-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 12 rebounds and one assist over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 111-101 win over the Bucks.
Jackson has been playing extremely well since being promoted to a starting role, scoring in double digits in each of his 10 consecutive starts while posting solid numbers overall. This was his first double-double in that span, but the rookie out of South Carolina has averaged 17.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in that stretch.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Making another start
Rotowire
Jackson will enter the first unit for Wednesday's game against the Hornets.
Jackson will make his third career start Wednesday with the Grizzlies down several frontcourt members due to injury. In his other two starts, Jackson is averaging 24.0 points and 6.5 rebounds over 37.0 minutes.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Rejoins second unit
Rotowire
Jackson will come off the bench for Tuesday's game versus Washington.
Memphis' lineups usually change by the day with the amount of injuries on the roster, and the coaching staff has been experimenting with different rotations. Despite the move to the bench, Jackson will likely maintain a big role after posting 30 points (10-19 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one block across 38 minutes during Sunday's loss to the Thunder.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Erupts for 30 points
Rotowire
Jackson notched 30 points (10-19 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one block across 38 minutes during Sunday's 124-93 loss to the Thunder.
Jackson missed the previous game with a knee issue, but given the workload he saw Sunday, it was likely a precaution. Memphis' rotations have been unpredictable due to injuries and how they've handled the eligibility of two-way players, but Jackson will usually have a key role when active.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Starting Sunday
Rotowire
Jackson (knee) will start at shooting guard in Sunday's game versus the Thunder.
Jackson is returning from a one-game absence and will immediately get the start for John Konchar (ankle). He put up 18 points, seven rebounds and one assist across 36 minutes in his only other start this season.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Active Sunday
Rotowire
Jackson (knee) is available for Sunday's contest against Oklahoma City.
Jackson will return from a one-game absence due to left knee soreness. Efficiency has been a struggle of late for the 19-year-old, who is averaging 10.0 points and 4.7 rebounds on 26.5 percent shooting (11.3 FGA/G) in his last three games. With the Grizzlies down so many bodies, Jackson could end up as a featured offensive option by default.
Jackson amassed 17 points (4-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 8-10 FT), five rebounds, one assist and two steals in 31 minutes during Saturday's 107-100 overtime loss to the Trail Blazers.
Jackson might have ended with a decent stat line, but he earned nearly half his points from the charity stripe. Jackson has been remarkably consistent as a scorer in recent weeks, even if he's prone to deliver some inefficient performances, and the numbers back that up. He's scored in double digits in all but one of his last 10 appearances off the bench, averaging 16.5 points per game and shooting 45.2 percent from the field in that span.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Available to play
Rotowire
Jackson (quadriceps) is available for Friday's game versus Portland.
Jackson is a little banged up, but he'll give it a go Friday night with no word of any restrictions. The Grizzlies are missing several key contributors, so Jackson could soak up a ton of usage against Portland.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: On track to play Friday
Rotowire
Coach Taylor Jenkins said Jackson (quadriceps) will likely play Friday against Portland, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
Jackson is officially listed as questionable due to a right quad contusion, but it sounds like the rookie second-round pick will play through the pain. Since Jan. 13, Jackson has appeared in 20 of 21 games (one start), averaging 13.9 points and 4.2 rebounds in 24.4 minutes per game during that stretch.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Questionable for Friday
Rotowire
Jackson is being listed as questionable for Friday's matchup with the Trail Blazers due to a right quad contusion.
If Jackson isn't able to give it a go Friday night, the Grizzlies could go into that game with just eight active players, so guys like Ziaire Williams, Yuta Watanabe, Vince Williams and Jake LaRavia would get all the run they could handle. Check back for another update on Jackson following Friday's shootaround.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Excellent off bench Thursday
Rotowire
Jackson provided 27 points (10-17 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 1-3 FT), one rebound and one block in 30 minutes during Thursday's 113-110 win over the Bucks.
Jackson tied his career-best scoring output Thursday despite coming off the bench, and the rookie out of South Carolina continues to make an impact for a depleted Grizzlies team. He's going through his most productive stretch of the campaign and has scored in double digits in six straight appearances, averaging 20.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game in that span. Plus, it's worth noting each of his last five outings in that span has seen him come off the bench, so he's performing at a high level regardless of his role.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Gets one-game suspension from team
Rotowire
Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said Jackson won't play in Monday's game against the Pelicans after violating a team rule, Chris Herrington of The Daily Memphian reports.
Jackson will be inactive Monday, but the rookie is expected to be available Wednesday versus Houston. The 19-year-old's infraction comes at an inconvenient time, as he had averaged 19.3 points and 5.5 rebounds in 28.8 minutes across his last four games.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Strong showing with second unit
Rotowire
Jackson racked up 16 points (5-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-6 FT), five rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal across 21 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's 123-113 loss to the Knicks.
The 19-year-old rookie continues to give the injury-ravaged Grizzlies solid minutes. Jackson has scored in double digits in nine of the last 13 games, averaging 12.2 points, 4.1 boards, 1.9 threes, 1.1 assists and 0.8 blocks over 23.3 minutes a contest, and his role isn't likely to shrink until Desmond Bane (ankle) is back in action, likely near the end of February.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Back to bench
Rotowire
Jackson will come off the bench for Tuesday's game against the Knicks.
Memphis' rotations are all over the place due to injuries across the roster. Despite the move to the second unit, Jackson figures to see a substantial amount of minutes going forward.
