Dowtin ended with 30 points (11-15 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), four steals, three assists and one block across 29 minutes during Wednesday's 122-103 victory over the Wizards. Making his first appearance after sitting out Philadelphia's last six games while he approaches his limit of allotted active games at the NBA level as a two-way player, Dowtin didn't exhibit any signs of rust in his return. He came off the bench and poured in a career-high scoring total on efficient shooting, while also providing some strong contributions on the defensive end. The two-way player is eligible to be active for only one more game for the remainder of the season, so fantasy players considering streaming him or using him in DFS contests will want to verify that he's active Friday against the Hawks or Sunday against the Bulls. Over his last 11 appearances, Dowtin has averaged 16.0 points, 2.6 assists, 2.2 rebounds, 1.8 three-pointers and 1.4 steals in 24.0 minutes per contest.... See More ... See Less

76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Team-high 27 points in G League
Dowtin logged 27 points (10-21 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-4 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block over 35 minutes Saturday during the G League Delaware Blue Coats' 122-111 G League win over Raptors 905. Dowtin brought a balanced scoring attack Saturday, scoring at least six points in each quarter to help Delaware earn its 14th win of the G League regular season. Dowtin has seen extensive off the bench for the 76ers and has averaged 12.8 points, 2.5 assists and 2.2 rebounds over 21.6 minutes per game at the NBA level since the beginning of March.... 76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Starting Wednesday
Dowtin will start at point guard in Wednesday's game against the Wizards, Austin Krell of OnPattison.com reports. Dowtin will make his second start in three games Wednesday while Jared Butler comes off the bench. Dowtin has averaged 14.5 points, 2.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.0 steals over 24.0 minutes per game over his last two contests. After Wednesday's contest, Dowtin -- who is signed to a two-way deal -- will be eligible to play in just two more games for the 76ers over the rest of the season, unless the club converts him to a standard NBA contract.... 76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Excels from free-throw line in loss
Dowtin provided 12 points (3-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three blocks, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 22 minutes off the bench during Monday's 112-99 loss to New Orleans. Though he moved back to the bench after starting in Sunday's loss to the Hawks, Dowtin played at least 20 minutes for the sixth time in his last seven appearances for the shorthanded 76ers. During that stretch, Dowtin has averaged 16.4 points, 3.0 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.6 three-pointers, 1.4 steals and 0.9 blocks while shooting 56.1 percent from the floor and 44 percent from long distance. Per the terms of his two-way deal, Dowtin can be active for just three of the 76ers' remaining 10 games, though Philadelphia would have the ability to sign him to a standard NBA contract if it so chooses.... 76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Returning to bench
Dowtin will come off the bench Monday against the Pelicans. Dowtin performed well in Sunday's spot start, finishing with 17 points, four boards, three assists, two blocks and three steals, but it evidently wasn't enough to secure him a second straight start. Jared Butler will get the nod at point guard Monday with Dowtin retreating to a bench role.... See More ... See Less -
76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Scores 17 in spot start
Dowtin totaled 17 points (7-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three steals in 26 minutes during Sunday's 132-119 loss to the Hawks. Dowtin started following a two-game absence due to a coach decision, and he made his presence felt with a solid outing despite the Sixers suffering yet another double-digit loss. Dowtin has been making the most of his time on the court whenever he has the chance and has scored in double digits in his last eight appearances (two starts), averaging 15.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 steals per game in that span.... 76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Starting Sunday
Dowtin will start in Sunday's game against the Hawks. Dowtin will return to the starting lineup after missing the club's last two outings due to a coach's decision. The two-way combo guard can be active in just four of the club's last 11 games after Sunday. Over his last five outings (one start), Dowtin has averaged 17.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 steals across 26.2 minutes per contest.... See More ... See Less -
76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Inactive Friday
Dowtin (coach's decision) will be inactive for Friday's game against the Spurs, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports. Dowtin can be active in just five more games at the NBA level this season while signed to two-way contract, so the 76ers will opt to hold him out Friday in order to have him available at other points in the schedule. Jared Butler and Jalen Hood-Schifino will likely serve as the 76ers' primary options at point guard Friday.... See More ... See Less -
76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Impresses in first career start
Dowtin chipped in 24 points (11-20 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals over 40 minutes during Friday's 112-100 loss to Indiana. Dowtin made the first start of his NBA career Friday and made the most of the opportunity, leading the Sixers in scoring and also leaving his mark across the board with an excellent all-around showing. Dowtin should have upside as long as the 76ers remain depleted, but it's uncertain if he'll stay in a starting role in the coming games. He's likely to experience a sizable regression in his minutes once Tyrese Maxey (back) is ready to return, which might happen at some point in the coming days.... See More ... See Less -
76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Career-high 20 points Wednesday
Dowtin logged 20 points (9-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt), three assists, two rebounds and two steals over 27 minutes during Wednesday's 118-105 win over the Raptors. Even with Kelly Oubre (ankle) returning from a one-game absence, Dowtin still saw plenty of minutes off the bench after Lonnie Walker left in the first quarter of Sunday's game due to a head injury. Dowtin took advantage of the opportunity and turned in a career-best scoring performance. Dowtin has played at least 27 minutes in each of his last two outings, and the 27-year-old has assumed a bigger role for the Sixers due to the absences of Paul George (groin) and Tyrese Maxey (back). The two-way player is eligible to be active for just eight of the 76ers' remaining 17 games, so he'll likely have some unexpected inactive statuses in the contests to come, even if George, Maxey and others remain sidelined.... 76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Drops 27 points in G League loss
Dowtin chipped in 27 points (11-22 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block across 40 minutes during Friday's 118-107 G League loss to the Greensboro Swarm. Dowtin joined the Blue Coats for the first time since Feb. 4, finishing as the club's second-leading scorer in an efficient performance. The two-way combo guard has received double-digit minutes in four consecutive contests for the parent club, during which he has averaged 7.8 points, 2.3 assists and 1.5 rebounds across 15.5 minutes per contest.... 76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Scores career-high 18 points
Dowtin totaled 18 points (7-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block across 29 minutes during Tuesday's 118-102 loss to the Thunder. The 76ers were supremely shorthanded Tuesday, paving the way for Dowtin to not only move into the rotation, but to also see his most minutes of the season. He made the most of the extra playing time, turning in a career-best scoring performance while supplementing his line with decent peripheral numbers. The potential returns of Paul George (ankle), Tyrese Maxey (hand) and Caleb Martin (groin) as soon as Wednesday against the Knicks could result in Dowtin's minutes taking a significant hit.... 76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Used sparingly in loss
Dowtin posted zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist in four minutes during Wednesday's 114-106 loss to Cleveland. Dowtin suited up for the fourth straight game, albeit for just four minutes. Having played at least 20 minutes in each of the two previous games, Dowtin had been serving as a consistent piece in the rotation. However, given he has played fewer than five minutes in each of the other four games in which he has suited up, it seems the coaching staff is going to call on him only as a last resort.... 76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Lands two-way deal
Dowtin agreed to a two-way contract with the 76ers on Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Dowtin spent the 2023-24 campaign with Philadelphia, but the 76ers declined his $2.2 million team option for the 2024-25 season in late June. He remained with the team for Summer League play, averaging 17.1 points and 5.7 assists. He'll compete for a role with the organization during camp this fall.... See More ... See Less -
76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Contract converted to standard deal
The 76ers converted Dowtin's two-way contract to a standard deal Thursday. Dowtin has been playing for the G League's Delaware Blue Coats this year and signed a two-way deal with the team in early March. He impressed for the G League club and will be rewarded with a standard contract late in the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
76ers' Jeff Dowtin: Leads team in assists Wednesday
Dowtin amassed 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt), six assists, three rebounds, three steals and one block over 24 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 115-109 loss to the Grizzlies. Playing his second NBA game of the season, Dowtin was pushed into a much larger role than expected with Tyrese Maxey (concussion), Kyle Lowry (rest) and De'Anthony Melton (back) all missing from the Sixers' backcourt. The 26-year-old journeyman responded by leading the team in assists and tying for the team lead in steals while chipping in a little offense of his own. Lowry could be back in the lineup as soon as Friday against the Pelicans, but Dowtin's performance might have been good enough for him to hang onto a spot in the regular rotation in the short term.... Jeff Dowtin: Let go by Toronto
Dowin was waived by the Raptors on Friday, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet reports. This isn't a big surprise, as Dowtin's non-guaranteed deal was due to be partially guaranteed on Saturday. The 76ers hold Dowtin's G League rights, so there's a good chance he ends up in Philadelphia.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Remains out Tuesday
Dowtin (ankle) didn't play in Tuesday's 106-102 preseason win over the Bulls. It's unclear if Dowtin's absence is due to still recovery from ankle surgery or a removal from Toronto's rotation. Either way, his next chance to suit up is Friday's preseason matchup with Washington.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Doesn't play Sunday
Dowtin didn't play in Sunday's 112-99 preseason win over the Kings. Dowtin missed Summer League play while recovering from ankle surgery that he underwent following the 2022-23 season. He's been participating in practices during training camp, so it's unclear whether his absence from Sunday's matchup was due to his offseason ankle issue. The 26-year-old is on a non-guaranteed deal ahead of the 2023-24 campaign and will have to compete for a roster spot over the next few weeks.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Won't play in Summer League
Dowtin (ankle) won't play in any of Toronto's Summer League contests, Vivek Jacob of the Raptors' official site reports. Dowtin operated under a two-way deal with the Raptors last year and made just 25 NBA appearances, averaging 2.4 points in 10.4 minutes per game. He underwent ankle surgery following the 2022-23 campaign and will remain sidelined throughout Summer League action, but there's been no indication the undrafted guard out of Rhode Island (2020) is in danger of missing the start of next season. With Fred VanVleet no longer in the mix, Dowtin could compete for a sizable role with the Raptors in 2023-24.... See More ... See Less
