Wizards head coach Wes Unseld Jr. said Wednesday that he expects Dinwiddie to sit out Thursday's game against the Suns for rest purposes, Ava Wallace of The Washington Post reports.
Barring a change of heart from Unseld, Dinwiddie will get the second half of the back-to-back set off after he played 30 minutes in Wednesday's 119-105 loss to Sacramento. Dinwiddie had another rough outing with four points (on 2-for-8 shooting from the field) to go with six rebounds, four assists and one steal, but he doesn't look to be at risk of losing hold of his spot in the starting five just yet. Over seven appearances in December, Dinwiddie is averaging 7.7 points, 5.0 assists, 4.3 assists and 0.6 steals in 28.7 minutes per contest on wretched 29.7/70.6/16.7 percent shooting splits from the field, free-throw line and three-point range, respectively.
