The Warriors announced Saturday that Payton (calf) has been cleared to begin individual workouts and will be re-evaluated in one week.
If Payton continues to recover from the left calf strain he sustained in the Dec. 25 loss to the Lakers as anticipated, he could get the green light to resume practicing once he's re-evaluated. The veteran wing seems to be trending toward a mid-January return to game action in a best-case scenario.
