Nuggets' Russell Westbrook: Won't play Sunday

Westbrook (rest) will not play in Sunday's preseason game against the Celtics in Abu Dhabi, Bennett Durando of The Denver Post reports.

After a solid all-around preseason debut with the Nuggets, Westbrook will take Sunday off. The All-Star's absence will likely allow coach Mike Malone to get a better look at Trey Alexander and Jalen Pickett. However, when the regular season begins, Westbrook is expected to be the next man up behind Jamal Murray at point guard.
