Thomas tallied 12 points (3-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two assists, a rebound and a steal across 17 minutes during Tuesday's 115-106 loss to the Clippers.

As is customary with most preseason games, Thomas and the rest of the first unit played sparingly. Tuesday's starting five was not a good representation of the eventual first unit as Nic Claxton (hamstring) was held out of the contest, but we did catch a glimpse of what the backcourt might look like. While Thomas is entrenched in his role at the off-guard slot, Dennis Schroder and Ben Simmons appear to be locked in battle for the other backcourt position. Claxton's absence resulted in a small-ball setup where both played alongside each other, but it will be interesting to see how both are utilized moving forward. Regardless of how things shake down, Thomas' role will be largely unaffected, and he should continue as one of the team's top producers.
