Aldama was inserted into the starting lineup Monday due to Jaren Jackson (hamstring) and Vince Williams (lower leg) dealing with injuries. Aldama started 35 of 61 games during the 2023-24 regular season, averaging 10.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.9 blocks across 26.5 minutes. The 2021 first-round pick will likely begin the upcoming season in a reserve role behind Jackson and rookie center Zach Edey.
