Reds' Julian Aguiar: Undergoes Tommy John surgery
Aguiar will miss the entire 2025 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. Aguiar ended the season on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder sprain, but it's the elbow that wound up requiring an operation. The 23-year-old collected a 6.25 ERA and 19:12 K:BB over 31.2 innings covering seven starts for the Reds in 2024. Barring complications during his rehab, Aguiar should be ready for spring training ahead of the 2026 season.... See More ... See Less -

The 23-year-old Aguiar now sports a 6.25 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 19:12 K:BB through his first 31.2 innings. Through his first six big-league outings, Aguiar carries a 4.88 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 15:10 K:BB. He lines up for his next trip to the mound at home next week against Atlanta.... See More ... See Less -

The Reds selected Aguiar's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Monday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
