  • Rockies' Edouard Julien: First homer of 2026

Julien went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a stolen base, two walks and two runs scored Saturday against the Padres. Julien led off for the sixth consecutive game, and he continues to excel in the role. He has 10 hits across 21 at-bats in that span, driving in five with five runs scored and two stolen bases. While Julien began the season as a bench bat, he should continue to get regular run at second base and designated hitter so long as he remains productive.

  • Rockies' Edouard Julien: Taking advantage of playng time

Julien went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI and a walk Wednesday against the Astros. Julien served as Colorado's leadoff hitter for the third consecutive game. He's performed well in that span, going 5-for-12 with four RBI and three runs scored. Julien began the season as a part-time player, though his strong performance could earn him additional playing time, at least the short term.

  • Rockies' Edouard Julien: Gaining traction atop lineup

Julien will start at second base and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game against the Astros. Julien will handle leadoff duties for a third straight contest and appears to have at least temporarily claimed a spot in the Rockies' starting nine against right-handed pitching while Jake McCarthy (.385 OPS) and Jordan Beck (.268 OPS) are struggling. With a .513 OPS in 20 plate appearances, Julien has been only marginally better, and he'll likely need to raise his production to ensure he sticks in the lineup on a long-term basis.

  • Rockies' Edouard Julien: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Julien is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays. Julien has gone 1-for-7 with a double and four strikeouts while starting three of Colorado's first four games of the season, and he'll hit the bench for Tuesday's contest. T.J. Rumfield will shift to designated hitter and Willi Castro to first base, opening up the keystone for Ryan Ritter.

  • Rockies' Edouard Julien: Exiting lineup Sunday

Julien is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins. Julien served as the Rockies' designated hitter in the first two games of the season, going 1-for-5 with a double. Though he should have a fairly clear path to at-bats while Mickey Moniak (finger) is on the shelf, Julien will be the odd man out of the lineup Sunday. Hunter Goodman will get a day off from catching but stick in the starting nine at DH.

  • Rockies' Edouard Julien: Starting at DH in opener

Julien will start at designated hitter and bat eighth in Friday's opener in Miami. The placement of Mickey Moniak (finger) on the 10-day injured list will free up some at-bats at DH and in the outfield for the Rockies. Julien will get the first crack at DH, though the spot is likely to be a revolving door. The 26-year-old was acquired from the Twins over the offseason.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: On bench for third straight

Julien is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres. The Twins have now left Julien out of the lineup for three consecutive contests, which follows a stretch of four straight starts in which he went 2-for-13 with a double and three walks. Julien has produced a poor .545 OPS since getting called up from Triple-A St. Paul on Aug. 1 and may play second fiddle to Kody Clemens at first base in September.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Goes deep Thursday

Julien went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 extra-innings loss to the Tigers. Julien has gone just 5-for-25 (.200) with a 2:8 BB:K over 10 games since rejoining the big-league roster following the trade deadline. This was his first multi-hit effort in that span, which has seen him fill a part-time role. He's seeing most of his time at first base but is sharing the position with Kody Clemens and Mickey Gasper. Julien will need to show more consistency to claim a larger share of playing time. On the year, he has a poor .198/.282/.328 slash line with three homers, nine RBI, nine runs scored and no stolen bases over 131 plate appearances.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Late addition to lineup

Julien will start at first base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Tigers. The left-handed-hitting Julien had been slated to sit for the second day in a row against a right-handed starter (Jack Flaherty), but Julien will end up moving back into the starting nine after Trevor Larnach (shoulder) was scratched. Kody Clemens will head to the outfield to fill in for Larnach while Julien covers Clemens' usual post at first base.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Drawing fourth consecutive start

Julien will start at second base and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Tigers. Julien has started at the keystone in all four games for the Twins since he was called up from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday in the aftermath of the trade deadline. Though Julien should have a pathway to an everyday lineup spot the rest of the season if he can produce at the plate, he's mustered just one hit and one walk while striking out five times in nine at-bats through his first three contests following his promotion. Luke Keaschall (forearm) could be ready to return from the 60-day injured list by the end of the week and may push Julien for playing time at the keystone if the latter player isn't able to get going at the dish.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Summoned from Triple-A

The Twins recalled Julien from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, LaVelle E. Neal III of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports. With Luke Keaschall (forearm) staying in Triple-A for a longer rehab assignment, Julien may get steady time at second base and first base in the near term after the Twins shipped out nine players at the trade deadline. Julien had heated up at Triple-A after struggling in the majors this spring, as he was hitting .276/.415/.464 with 11 home runs in 70 games at St. Paul.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Taking seat Sunday

Julien is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox. Southpaw Garrett Crochet is taking the hill for Boston, so Julien will remain on the bench for a second straight game. Brooks Lee will cover second base while Julien sits.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Pops leadoff homer

Julien went 1-for-5 with a solo homer and a walk in Monday's 11-1 victory over the Guardians. The Minnesota second baseman hit the game's first pitch out of the park, launching it 403 feet to center off starter Gavin Williams. Julien has been hitting leadoff in a strong-side platoon lately and should get plenty of run while Luke Keaschall (forearm) is on the injured list. Across 92 plate appearances, Julien is slashing .213/.304/.350 with two homers, eight runs scored and eight RBI.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Getting run in leadoff spot

Julien will start at second base and bat leadoff in Tuesday's contest against the Mets. It marks the third straight game that Julien has batted leadoff and the eighth game in a row that he's been in the lineup. Previous leadoff man Matt Wallner is hitting third for the Twins on Tuesday.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Goes to bench Monday

Julien is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals. The left-handed-hitting Julien had started in each of the Twins' last five games -- all against right-handed pitchers -- but he went just 3-for-14 with one walk against four strikeouts during that span. Julien will head to the bench Monday even as the Royals send a right-hander (Michael Lorenzen) to the mound, opening up a starting spot in the infield for Jose Miranda.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Making first start of season

Julien will start at designated hitter and bat eighth in Tuesday's game against the White Sox. It's the first start of the season for Julien, who has been limited in the early going due to an illness. He did receive three plate appearances off the bench in Monday's loss to the White Sox, going hitless.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Hitless in season debut at plate

Julien (illness) went 0-for-3 in Monday's loss to the White Sox. He entered as a pitch hitter and defensive replacement in the fourth inning. Julien had appeared in only one game as a defensive replacement before Monday due to an illness. He played second base and then later moved to shortstop in a blowout loss -- the first time he's appeared at shortstop in his career. Julien looked set to get playing time against right-handed pitching, but hasn't had a start this season although the illness may have been a factor.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Has been battling illness

Julien didn't make a start during the weekend series in St. Louis in part due to illness, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports. The Twins faced all right-handers in the series, but the left-handed hitting Julien's only action came in the late innings of Sunday's game when he played a couple innings on defense. It's not clear how many starts he would have made had he been 100 percent, but the illness did play a part in his absence. Julien is out of the lineup again Monday against White Sox left-hander Martin Perez. It's possible he'll start Tuesday, when the Twins are scheduled to face righty Shane Smith.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Not in lineup versus righty

Julien is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in St. Louis, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports. The Cardinals are starting a righty in Sonny Gray, but the left-handed hitting Julien finds himself on the bench for the opener. The Twins are going with Willi Castro at second base, Trevor Larnach in the designated-hitter spot and Harrison Bader in left field.

  • Twins' Edouard Julien: Set to make final roster

Julien has unofficially won a spot on Minnesota's 26-man roster to begin the season with Austin Martin optioned to Triple-A, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports. Julien was on the roster bubble, but will make the team with both Royce Lewis and Brooks Lee set to begin the season on the injured list. Julien could get playing time at second base and DH early in the season against right-handed pitching.
