Jonny DeLuca has a chance to make something of himself in 2026 as he is arguably the only player on the roster who can handle centerfield defensively on a regular basis. He looks like a natural out there, while Chandler Simpson looks like he's playing kick returner on a windy day in the outfield, even on the calmest of days. DeLuca was limited to 20 games played in 2025 due to a laundry list of injuries including an acute shoulder sprain as a result of a diving catch early in the season. He eventually came back from that after some rehab setbacks, but then a hamstring injury in August and a quad strain in September ended his season. If DeLuca's body can stop failing him at every turn, he has a chance to be an endgame value because his defense is going to keep him in the lineup and help him exceed his playing time projections. Twenty-plus steals is well within reach for DeLuca, as he swiped six bags in 20 games, but the other categories will most likely be lacking. DeLuca is an interesting endgame play for steals as long as the rest of your roster can pick up the run production slack.
