PCA created some early MVP buzz in 2025 thanks to his stellar defense and a hot start to the season, but he struggled at the plate down the stretch. The center fielder finished July with a .272/.309/.559 slash line with 27 home runs and 29 steals, but he cratered during the final two months of the campaign with just four homers, six stolen bases and a .533 OPS in his final 51 regular-season games. Still, Pete Crow-Armstrong was one of only seven players to produce a 30-30 season in 2025, which is even more impressive given that it was just his second full season in the big leagues. Even with the late offensive struggles, he remained a regular presence in the lineup due to his elite defense (plus-15 DRS and plus-21 OAA). However, his plate discipline is a major concern, with his 4.7 percent walk rate ranking fifth worst in MLB among qualified batters. Crow-Armstrong showcased his potential in 2025 and has a ceiling as high as any player in baseball, but he'll likely need to improve his plate discipline to take that next step and become a more reliable offensive contributor.

    After fading down the stretch last season, Crow-Armstrong is aiming to make his swing more consistent and compact this year in an effort to find more sustained success at the plate, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports. Crow-Armstrong was one of the top players in the league before the All-Star break, blasting 25 home runs and posting an .846 OPS. However, he faded some after the break, as he mustered only six long balls and a .634 OPS. Chicago assistant hitting coach John Mallee said he noticed that as the season went on, the talented outfielder developed a longer stride in his swing, which led him to miss more pitches or make weaker contact when he did connect. Crow-Armstrong still had a great season with the 31 long balls and 35 stolen bases, making him one of only seven players in all of baseball to get to 30 in each of those categories. The 23-year-old's combination of power and speed makes him a valuable fantasy asset, and he could take a step forward in 2026 if he tightens up his swing and makes more consistent contact all year.
