The Yankees' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate placed Mayea on its 7-day injured list Saturday with an unspecified injury.
Mayea's debut in affiliated ball looks as though it'll be delayed at least a week as he works his way back from the injury. The 18-year-old outfielder signed a $4.35 million contract with the Yankees in January 2023.
