The Tigers selected Mattison from Double-A Erie on Tuesday.
Mattison did not pitch in 2024 due to having UCL reconstruction surgery in March. He is currently expected to return next season, but not until June. His last appearances came with Double-A Erie in 2023 where he posted a 1.62 ERA across 22 games. The 25-year-old is now protected from the Rule Draft.
