Greene (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Greene was cleared for game action after getting through another running session at Comerica Park on Tuesday. The outfielder has been shelved since late July with a right hamstring strain. It's not clear how many rehab games Greene will require, but a return next Tuesday for the start of the Tigers' road trip would be a possibility.
