Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Dingler would be sidelined at Double-A Erie for at least two weeks after fracturing the tip of a finger on his left hand Friday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Hinch indicated that Dingler's injury isn't a major concern and likely won't sideline the backstop for the rest of the season, but a more precise timeline for the 22-year-old won't be available until he gets his finger rescanned in late August. Since receiving a promotion to Erie in mid-June, Dingler is slashing .201/.268/.328 with a 27.5 percent strikeout rate across 149 plate appearances.
