The Rockies optioned Gordon to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.
Gordon was called up to make a spot start Wednesday and yielded seven runs in 3.1 innings against the Tigers. He'll return to Albuquerque on Friday, giving way to Austin Gomber (paternity list) on the 26-man roster. Gordon has an 8.65 ERA in 34.1 innings for the Rockies this season.
