Double-A Altoona reinstated Smith-Njigba (undisclosed) from the 7-day injured list Thursday, Jake Crouse of MLB.com reports.
Smith-Njigba was sidelined for about a week and a half with the injury. The 22-year-old outfielder, who was part of the prospect haul the Pirates acquired in January in the trade that sent Jameson Taillon to the Yankees, is hitting .282 with six home runs and a 13-for-14 success rate on stolen-base attempts over 248 plate appearances this season at Double-A.
